Asclepias syriaca

Common Milkweed

Common milkweed has large pink flower clusters that are quite fragrant and are a good nectar source for butterflies of all types. The foliage is used as food by Monarch caterpillars. Native to the Eastern half of the US. Fuzzy, inflated seed pods add interest to the plant in the fall.
