Abutilon x hybridum 'Nabob'

This is a dramatic plant with it large deep-red waxy-crepe-paper blooms and dark green leaves. A perennial in the warmest climates where it blooms non-stop and can reach 10 feet tall. However most of us grow it as an annual, (discarding it when the frosts arrive,) or bring it indoors to spend the winter in the house. (It will stay smaller in a container.) It is happiest in rich soil in light shade. Doesn't like to dry out.
