Trumpet Honeysuckle is a twining vine great for fences, trellises and arbors. Native to southeastern US, this selection, Blanche Sandman, has lovely orange-red flowers that bloom first in May/June, then sporadically throughout the summer and fall. Plant it in full sun, (part shade in warmer climates,) in rich, well drained soil. The classic tubular honeysuckle flowers are sure to please your hummingbirds. In the fall, the showy orange-red berries may be eaten by cedar waxwings, cardinals, and finches.
