Another great Agastache for the butterfly or hummingbird garden. 'Black Adder' boasts smoky violet-blue bottle brush flowers with dark purple buds. It blooms from mid-summer until frost, attracting butterflies, hummingbirds and bees with its nectar, and then finches with its seeds. The foliage smells like black licorice. Plant it in full sun in well draining, lean, soil. Leave the foliage during the winter, cutting it back in spring when new growth emerges. Heat and drought tolerant.
