Pioneer Violet

One of our native violets. Dainty yellow flowers are produced in spring, brightening the shady garden. Likes moist, organically rich soil. When happy it will merrily spread by seed as well as with runners. A host plant for the Western Meadow Fritillary, the Hydaspe Fritillary, and the Callippe Fritillary.
